ENEA Wytwarzanie SA is a competence centre for power within the ENEA Capital Group when it comes to electricity and heat generation. ENEA Wytwarzanie SA is the leader of power generating sector in the ENEA Capital Group. It is the largest commercial hard coal-fired generator in the Polish electricity market. It is located on the left bank of the Vistula River, 75 kilometres south from Warsaw and 12 kilometres from Kozienice. It is situated near the Kozienice natural landscape park – a specially protected area which is governed by stricter environmental protection standards.
There are 10 high performance power units in the power station with total maximum power output of 2913 MW which constitutes about 8% share in the Polish electricity market. Generating capacity of the installed power units is about 14 TWh per annum. Both the installed capacity and the location make the power station in Świerże Górne one of the most important plants of the National Power System (KSE).

On the first of April 2008 passed the 40th anniversary from the start of the power station erection. The commissioning and start-up of the first 200 MW unit (No 1) took place in 1972, while the power plant erection was completed in 1979 with the putting into service the second 500 MW unit (No 10).
